Become a Fellowship or Award Reviewer

The Academy is seeking dedicated individuals to serve as reviewers on our esteemed review teams for the Dr. Dawn K. Smith HIV Prevention Clinical Fellowship (DKS Fellowship) and the Caesar Augusto Caceres Award for Innovations in HIV Prevention and Care (CAC Award).

As a reviewer, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating fellowship applications or award proposals, which have immense potential to contribute to HIV prevention and care.

Application and proposal review begins May 16, 2024.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review DKS Fellow applications or CAC Award proposals with rigor and impartiality.
  • Provide constructive feedback and evaluation on the quality, feasibility and impact of the successful matriculation of fellow applicants or the proposed projects.
  • Participate in committee discussions to reach informed decisions.
  • Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards throughout the review process.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in grant/residency/fellowship review, research evaluation or related activities.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in research.

Please indicate if you would like to review for the DKS Fellowship or CAC Award, and also provide a brief statement outlining your relevant experience and motivation. Upon receipt of your information, details regarding a committee meeting to outline the review process will be supplied.
