The federal Ending the HIV Epidemic in the U.S. initiative is a bold plan to reduce the number of new HIV infections in the United States by at least 90 percent by 2030, which would be fewer than 3,000 per year. To support this goal, the U.S. needs more clinical trainees entering the field of HIV.
Physician assistants (PAs) play a key part in achieving the initiative’s goals around HIV treatment and prevention.
The goal of the Academy’s Physician Assistant Preceptorship Program is to match PA students with Academy credentialed HIV Specialist™ PAs for a clinical rotation during the PA student’s clinical year.
If you are a PA student interested in HIV prevention and care, sexual health, and caring for underserved populations, the Academy would like to match you with a preceptor for a multi-week, in-person experiential learning rotation. Please complete the form below to begin this process.
If you are a PA student interested in being paired with a preceptor in HIV, please use the sign-up form below.
If you are a practicing PA interested in precepting PA students, please use the sign-up form below. Preceptors must hold a valid HIV Specialist™ or HIV Expert™ credential.
